FPV Drone Flythrough of Self Storage Concierge Beneath The Biltmore Mayfair, London

Cinematic FPV drone filming through Self Storage Concierge’s premium Mayfair facility beneath The Biltmore Hotel, captured by Emmy-winning FPV pilot and drone cinematographer Lewis Whyld using the Whyldthings Moonshot. The flythrough moved through secure storage areas, circulation routes and concierge spaces, using continuous close-proximity camera movement to present the facility as a high-end, carefully designed environment rather than a conventional self-storage site. Moonshot’s compact size, low weight and endurance were particularly well suited to the confined underground layout, where precise route planning, controlled flying and careful signal management were essential throughout.

Designing the Guided FPV Tour

The Self Storage Concierge film was designed to feel like a guided tour rather than a conventional property showcase. For much of the sequence, the FPV camera followed the facility manager as he moved through the site, unlocking individual units and leading the viewer through the different areas of the business.

Other activity was incorporated into the route as well, including people loading and accessing storage spaces, so the facility felt active and operational rather than staged or empty. The drone could move around the manager, follow him through corridors and transition into newly opened spaces, giving the film a natural sense of progression.

Using the Whyldthings Moonshot made that style of filming particularly effective. Its compact size, low weight and precise control allowed me to stay close to people and move through the confined underground layout, while its endurance supported longer continuous takes.

The result was an immersive FPV tour that showed not only the layout and design of the facility, but how customers actually move through and use it.

Specialist FPV for Commercial & Customer-Facing Spaces

The Self Storage Concierge project is part of a wider body of indoor FPV work across commercial interiors, offices, hospitality spaces and customer-facing environments where the camera needs to show both the space and how people actually use it.

I use FPV to build guided visual journeys through complex interiors, following staff, customers or activity through the location rather than relying only on empty-room establishing shots. That approach can make a commercial space feel more intuitive and human, while still showing its layout, design and scale.

For projects like this, the value of FPV is not just the uninterrupted movement. It is the ability to connect people, process and place in one continuous sequence, turning a walkthrough into a more immersive piece of branded storytelling.

FPV Film & Interactive Virtual Tour

Alongside the FPV flythrough, I also created an interactive virtual tour of the Mayfair facility, giving prospective customers another way to explore the site remotely and understand the layout before visiting in person.

The two formats served different purposes: the FPV film created a cinematic guided journey through the facility, while the virtual tour allowed users to explore the space at their own pace. Together, they provided Self Storage Concierge with both engaging promotional content and a practical digital tool for customers considering the Mayfair location.
